Boursin Cheese Spread Copycat Recipe

This Boursin cheese spread copycat recipe is similar to what you’d find in the deli section of most grocery stores.  This cheese spread tastes amazing on bread hot from the oven, or even on Wheat Thins.  I have seen a few recipes which call for Boursin cheese spread dumped into hot cooked pasta too.  I haven’t ever tried the cheese spread on pasta, but it seems like it would be delicious.

This delicious garlic and herb cheese spread can be expensive for the amount you get.  This is my own spin on this herbed cream cheese spread.  I like to make this ahead of time and let the flavors blend.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup butter – softened
  • 1 package of cream cheese (8 ounces) – softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil

When it’s all combined it should look something like this.

I made some bread loaves from scratch.  It was my first time making bread without a bread machine!  I used the dough hook on my KitchenAid mixer.

This Boursin Copycat Recipe is Delicious

My husband and three teens were home and we ate ALL FOUR LOAVES of bread hot out of the oven with all but about one tablespoon of the copycat Boursin cheese spread.  We really pigged out. 😳

A few days later, I had a few kids begging me to make the bread and the cheese spread again, so I did.  The second time we had one loaf leftover and about a quarter of a cup of the spread too. 😮

Ooh, my husband and I love that Boursin cheese on crackers, so I may have to give this recipe a whirl. Your bread looks really good, too!

I love Boursin cheese too, but I'm too cheap to buy it. This is a nice alternative. Thank you for visiting and commenting Laura!

Oh my goodness... This is basically everything I love in a snack. I may have to make this sometime. But those bread loaves looked like they were to die for. There's nothing better than bread!
