When picking out pinto beans, always go with the lightest colored beans you can find.

Quick Soak Pinto Beans

Cover beans with a few inches of water and bring  water to a boil. Boil 3 minutes and remove from heat. Let beans sit covered for about an hour and then drain.

Or you could soak beans in water overnight.

Fill bean pot 3/4 way full.  Boil beans about two hours or until they are almost done.   Salt - beans need to taste perfect for salt.

Now it’s time to “cook” about 1/4 to 1/3 cup vegetable oil.   This step cannot be skipped.

Add beans and plenty of the bean juice  to the  cooled down “cooked” oil skillet.

After awhile the beans will start to become creamy.

When the beans get super creamy smash half with the back of a spatula.
