My husband and I have a small ranch which we have lived on for 20+ years, we have raised three daughters and are still raising our son (he’s our 15-year-old 6’2″ baby 😀 ). Our recipes are what we actually eat as a family. All recipes posted here are tested multiple times. We only post foods we love.
In September 2015, we were hit hard by the #ValleyFire. We are so grateful our house survived! The fire took out five outbuildings – barn, tractor barn, big two cars+ garage, chicken coop, and tool shed. We lost two vehicles and two tractors, horse trailer and two equipement trailers. We also lost one horse, our oldest daughter’s Corgi (Bella), and a flock of banti chickens. We are now in the process of rebuilding.
Somehow Little Mae (miniature donkey) and Llola the llama survived the fire. Thanks to my neighbors, (who did not evacuate) and firefighters for watering and feeding them the two weeks we were on mandatory evacuation. It’s amazing these two survived. Llola the llama was loose in the 15+ acre pasture and the mini donkey was in this drilling pipe pen which was right next to our barn that burned to the ground (not a trace of it was left). The plastic water trough and hay we got thanks to generous donations. We were lucky to get a police escort back into our house and found the llama alive so we penned Llola so he wouldn’t escape (all our fencing is down). Thank you all those who donated to save our pets!
